NewsWatch executive producer Bryan Tropeano recently checked out the local Washington DC art scene at FotoWeekDC. The event was held at the former Spanish ambassador’s house, featuring exhibitions, photo contests, gallery openings and more.
One of the standout exhibits was The Sochi Project, which documented Sochi, Russia before the international media attention at the 2014 Winter Games. Other exhibits captured the history of the White House, life of Spanish immigrants, and youth advocates.
This week-long expose was presented by Brightest Young Things, an arts and humanities website. The website covers cultural interests and human happenings with up to 30 stories published a day. There are over 50 contributors at BYT and it is continuously expanding projects and interests.
