The Livescribe 3 is a pen with paper, which is the familiar, but it's also an app, an audio recorder, and a stylus, which is the new.

So what do you do with it? Well, once you pair the smartpen with the Livescribe+ mobile app, you can write on paper and it'll instantly pop up on an iPad or iPhone. If you type a few letters, you can search your handwritten notes. You can also record audio that will be synced to your handwriting, so you can hear what was said when you wrote that note. And the pen has a stylus on the top, so you can control your tablet or phone.

It's really an all in one solution for anyone to keep track of everything, from a student in school, to a professional in a meeting, to a child recording an oral history with their grandparent. LiveScribe 3 is available now online for $149.95 for the standard and $199.95 for the Pro Edition.
