     Remember back in the day when, to be a good navigator, you had to know how to read a map? Then technology brought us the GPS, and now we are all master navigators. What if you could “GPS” your way through a cooking recipe? Would that make you a better cook? We here at NewsWatch like to think so. Look no further than SideChef. It was named one of the top apps of 2014 by USA Today, and for good reason. The app guides you through the cooking process with photos and videos. If you are a visual learner SideChef has you covered.

     No more just having to rely on your ability to read and follow a written recipe. There are over 1,500 recipes from over 100 recipe creators ranging from entrée meals to delicious desserts. The design of the app makes it easy to use as well. The front page will give you suggestions like seasonal foods or holiday themed meals to cook. The search function allows you to search by different cuisines, dietary restrictions, levels of spice, meals for kids, length of the cooking process and on and on. You can even search by the ingredients you have in your fridge or by a specific ingredient you would like to cook with. Previews of the meals and user submitted photos allow you to judge whether or not you want to cook that particular dish. Once you finish, you can submit your own photos, feedback and tips.
