Instead of sticking to pen and paper for keeping golf scores, try out a cool & free new app called TheGrint. It's the only app that gives you an official USGA handicap for free.

You can upload the scores manually as you play, or you can stick to pen and paper and simply take a picture of your scorecard at the end of your round and TheGrint automatically transcribes it for you. Pretty cool! And with that comes a ton of stats on your game -- something you can dive very deep into. But that's not all! With TheGrint you can also see maps of every course in the country and see where you are on the hole, using GPS, and determine the distance to the fairway, the green, or wherever. And there's a social element too - you can link up with anyone in your group, or even a group ahead or behind you, and make your foursome an eight-some. You can talk trash and see scores, all in realtime. Very very fun feature.
