Remember 5, 6 years ago when Nextel phones were the rage?  Well if you want to bring the walkie talkie concept back to your phone but with a much friendlier user interface, check out a cool app called Zello. It’s free for consumers and with it you can push the talk button and chat live with your friends.

You can also join public chats with people from around the world or create private channels with your friends that are password protected.  And what I love is it’s a much more personal and quicker experience than texting…and let’s be honest, it’s more fun and social.
